Depending on the translation you use, in the book of Ephesians, chapter 1, verse 10, Paul writes about God’s ultimate plan for all of mankind and everything on earth to become united in Christ.

I needed confirmation that the World Race was where he was calling me to be and I had this verse put on my heart to do just that. I knew that ever since I read that verse and felt the confirmation in my heart – that this was my calling and God’s plan for my life. It is to be someone God uses to unite everything and everyone in Christ. I am among the few that know their purpose in life and I am honored and privileged to have been given this purpose. It will be a long road. My 5 year plan is to go on this year-long mission trip and get what I like to call a “blue-collar” experience. Where I learn how to better disciple and be discipled. Where I am out in communities of different cultures, languages, people and more. Where I can be absorbed in dependence on Jesus and what he is molding me into and thus pouring out his Spirit onto the thirsty world and people I meet.

When I get back, I plan on going straight back to college! That’s right! Once again God has called me back to the place I would never be able to go back to unless he was with me! He has given me multiple confirmations that this is what he wants me to do when I get back and over this year-long mission that confirmation could change, I am not saying that it might not. What I am saying is that I am more than thrilled for this plan of his that I will happily obey.

A Biblical Studies degree is the major I plan on going into. My heart has a deep longing for scripture and to study the Bible and to know who wrote it, who it was written to, why, and for what reasons, so I can then get the full measure of God’s intention in giving us this divine book and in turn, again, pour out what I learn unto others. Seeing as God’s grace and word is what saved me and changed my whole life – from addictions, drugs, sexual immorality, etc, I was freed from all of it by READING THE GOSPEL AND PUTTING MY LIFE IN JESUS’ HANDS!

Apologetics (the study of how to defend the Christian faith) is another interest of mine and one I intend to minor in.

This aspect of God’s plan for my life is what I like to call the “white-collar” experience. With the unification of a “blue-collar” experience (Missions), and a “white-collar” experience (Study of the Bible), and my foundation rooted in Jesus, I hope to mirror my life around Ephesians 1:10 “And this is the plan : At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ – everything in heaven and on earth.) With all I learn on the field and in the classroom I know that I will be able to be someone that can lead others to Jesus in a powerful way and expand the Kingdom of God in the process. I can’t wait for this next season of life to commence and I can’t wait for you to come along with me. I have never felt more alive than when God gave me my purpose for my life ( I remember jumping up and down in my room, joyous as could be) and encourage you to stop and ask God to confirm that this is what His purpose is in your life. Take it from me. Just 2 years ago, I had no hope in what my future held and now I have eternal life and a purpose to expand God’s Kingdom just by giving my life to Him. It was that simple! So to wrap it all up, that is “Why I am going on the World Race – Again”

In Christ,

Benjamin
